Ok, my apologies about the fuel pressure regulator, you do have have the bolt up style. Since you don't know the history of this truck, you will just have to keep trying and peel back the layers of problems as they appear. Remove the intake pipe at the turbo intake and make sure the turbo spins nice by hand. I would still still disconnect the exhaust either right after the turbo, or right before the DOC and see how it runs.

well i got the truck to run and now the engine is locked up i did this all in one day .i shot a couple shots of ether to get it to start back up but now its locked up i can turn it over at the flywheel it will turn and then it will lock back up in one spot i can turn the flywheel back the other way and it get to that certain spot and it will lock up my guess is i done bent a valve or worse gona pull the valve cover and remove the injectors and pray it will be just hydro locked up from to much fuel in the locked cylinder

well it didnt take me long to find what had happen to the engine pulled the valve cover and the number one cylinder valve rocker arms have slipped out of there grooves one of the rockers had slipped all the way out and one of them was locked between the valves and were stuck together locking the engine.. . when i first got it started yesterday it had a loud ticking noise i could hear i just thought it was one of the rocker arm was loose .. so i dont think the ether had anything to do with it locking up the engine it was the loose rocker arms and valve rockers well any way i still dont know what caused the rocker arms to fail this truck only has 80k miles on it head maxxforce 015.JPG head maxxforce 016.JPG head maxxforce 015.jpg

Is one of the bridges missing? Are the valve springs okay?
It could have been caused by an overspeed.

Good possibility a lifter retainer dogbone is broken.
Lifters spin and wipe out the cam.
Sometimes the block is damaged in the lifter bore area.
If so there will be metal everywhere.

+1 with what Flint1 said. I would expect a full over haul with new cam at this point and some valve train stuff.

    Flint1 Thanks this.
