I have a C13 its a baby cat motor it's like the little engine that could. On flat land I am in the left lane going up a hill far right hazards on saying I think I can I think I can. Can she do it sure, do I get passed by other people in my industry #### straight. Oh and this #### thing drinks fuel my 3406b got better MPG with no screw in the fuel pump. I replaced the ARD head once already $1,400 they go out often. Just replaced the temp sensor on it $400. Stay away from anything cat that has a DPF or an EGR. I didn't listen, I liked the truck and I bought it. Don't be me....

I am looking at a groendyke IH with c13 2006 670K miles . Hoping if I buy it lasts a lot longer . they had another one and at 408K had pistons , liners , rods and head. Thinking maybe someone did not take good care of it and the egr cooler leaked or something . It was at a different plant than the one I am looking at in KC

You're set on an International huh?
I would look into(i know im gonna get some grief on this but here we go...) The ISX cm871, ALL the new motors with emissions garbage hooked to it are going to have issues. But at least Cummins parts are readily available and you can work on that motor yerself. Look up a guy called RAWZE on this forum and on the YouTube he has his own website dedicated to that engine he is an Excellent resource. Im a Peterbilt guy so im biased, so with that being said upfront....id at least look at the Peterbilt 386 with an ISX in it. Why do I like the Petes? Heres just 1 example: on freightliner or Volvo or IH, say a gauge goes out, you can replace just that gauge,(40 buck or so ) on the others you have to replace the whole instrument cluster and that can very pricey(400-500 bucks) Or another option, buy an older pre emissions truck, but if you're stuck in California like I am.......a newer truck with emissions is in your future and you're going to have to learn to work on that motor in order to keep out of the shop or stealership. Best of Luck Amigo!

About three months ago I was looking at a truck with Arrow. They wanted $37,000. Now the same truck is still sitting on their lot for $29,900.

I recommend aiming for $20,000. They may not get that low but I would offer that if they say no walk away for a couple of days and see if they call you with a better price.

Look up Ritchie Bros auction. All the Penske and Ryder trucks that they can't sell on their own lots get auctioned.

2012 Volvo 670's and Casacadia's auction for $30-$33000 and are on truck paper two weeks later for $49,999.

Got approved for a 13 cascadia dd15 plus they will add a apu to the loan . but that is a lease with only basic warranty . I think he said I would be paying 120K for a 56k priced truck .Has 450K miles. I am assuming in that payment is insurance but I did not ask.
How ever I can trade it back in at 3 years . 1650.00 a month . Just not sure I can make enough hauling grain to cover such a payment . Got to go talk with a guy about a job first.
Still thinking on the old IH at 16500.00 from groendyke as that would give me a good head start with much cheaper payments if I can get financed . Still waiting for word on that . Will be calling up and checking that engine serial number first.
Wonder if Rawze information would also apply to a detroit ? I would guess it is much the same thing .

So trade in in 3 years would make the 13 cascadia cost 59400 . It is on sale at 54900. Not bad there I guess . But that is a big payment at 1650 month

if that doesn't cover insurance that's really expensive , if it is a lease what is your buy out option ?
