Looking for a shop that can upgrade to a newer engine to comply with CARB,,though i could just buy a newer truck, the ones I see for sale sre getting close to needing an overhaul with over 500k miles which will cost 20k in addition to purchase price,,if I could spend 50k doing a conversion with a new engine/aftertreatment system, I may be better off,,it can be done on cars easily,,so it should be possible on trucks
2010 engine conversions

ISX for one,,most of my friends have had to do major repairs at 600k,,the company I'm leased to has had many that only lasted 300k,,seems cyl #5 has had issues with liners dropping,,and cams/roller failures on most over 500k

You can do an engine swap but it will be expensive. For a cummins recon motor your looking at 40k just for the motor then another 2-3k for all the wiring harnesses 9-12 k for the after treatment systems and around 7k for the motor swap. Oh and don't forget since you don't have a motor to return you will have to pay for that as well. Go buy a new truck it will be cheaper and a whole lot less headache
