This is computer controlled and set to kick out at that speed. You would have to go to your dealer to have it reprogrammed. Personally, I wouldn't bother.

For anyone who pulls the A/C fuse in winter, I would recommend to not do that. Yes, a/c uses more fuel, and I understand fuel is expensive. The A/c compressors need to run every once and a while to relubricate and cycle refrigerant and oil through the system. Your expansion valve also has a high chance of becoming stuck in the closed position from it not moving for an extended period of time. If you run your defrost only when needed the a/c system runs only minimally. Consider a/c system repairs, plus down time, plus frustration versus saving a bit of money on fuel.

So you lock them up all the time at highway speeds?

my 2010 pro star has been in the shop 3 times in one month with only 42k on it, first the clutch went out, then the ac and then the clutch adjuster. it has a single stage clutch and it still makes a knocking sound when under load, almost like a piston knock but its in the clutch, if u lightly step on the clutch the sound goes away, but the dealer cant hear it...hmmmm oddd!!!! any ideas. Im seriously thinking of buying a programmer and changing the factory settings so u get the rpms back as well
HaulnHorses Thanks this. -
There is an Iknow article that addresses this. Have your dealer check out article IK1100004. There is a clutch linkage upgrade. For Prostars with ISX you need linkage 3839857C94, with a Maxxforce engine you need 3867630C92.

Is this iknow software at all international dealers? would it be a recall?
-
Iknow is the name for our tech support database and a way for us to communicate with factory engineers and techs through the internet. There are numerous tech letters and service bulletins to help us diagnose common problems. All International dealers have and use it. This isn't a recall, but they have acknowledged this problem due to a high number of complaints. Not every truck is effected and it isn't safety related so that is why it isn't a recall.
