I am having the same issue on the 9400i steering wheel. This ####ing thing just won't come off. Tried using a pulley puller before because I didn't have a steering wheel puller. It snapped off and bent the wheel. Rented a wheel puller kit, and broke one puller bolt inside the wheel. Tried to drill it out, but it simply went in further. Got a new puller set. Sprayed some WD40 around the shaft. Try to hammer the wheel from the back, tried hammering the top of the puller bolt hoping to break it loose. Nope, not moving. Unless I'm doing something completely wrong, I'm about ready to take a grinder to this #### wheel! 20200518_172239.jpg

Ok, silly question, but you did remove that nut all the way first, right?

Yes I removed it all the way. I simply reinstalled it half way in to guide the puller pin straight.

Anyway, I did manage to pop the wheel off. Thought I was going to break another puller bolt.

I do alignments and I have pulled literally hundreds of steering wheels over the years. There are some that I have to use my 1/2" impact gun on the puller to get off. I always make sure the bolts thread into the wheel about 1/2 deep to make sure they don't pull the threads out. Never had a bolt snap yet!

Yeah, I didn't use an impact gun when the bolt snapped. I used a breaker bar and also jammed a thick screwdriver through steering column in the engine bay against the chassis to prevent the steering wheel moving. I guess I'll just attribute the bolt snapping to a ####ty Chinese AutoZone puller kit.

Though I did get the steering wheel off, I didn't realize the center cap was riveted in. My purpose of pulling the wheel off was to clean it up and repaint it. I just ordered a new wheel, smaller one at that, 16" VS 18"
