I have seen problems with cruise control when climbing and decending low grades, I figure the ECU was malfuctioning. If you have a battery kill switch park the truck and turn off all power to the Truck. Then Reboot & Check for Engine Faults on the Diagnostics Menu. It could be a hardware fault in the control module or a faulty sensor. Usually a Detroit Authorized Service Center can run a Computer Diag Check while you wait, it only takes about 15 min to get a dump from the ECM.

Its already been to Detroit and no fault found. Freight liner is replacing the engine wiring harness today? Seems like a hail Mary to me but what the heck, more down time... I'm beginning to hate this truck, not what I expected when I spent my $125000.00...

Ok so mine just turned....well about to turn over 30k. It as yet to.do.a regen. About what time did all of yours start to regen themselves? And yes my cruise is faulty but not how your saying, mine just randomly decides not to work. I could drive for ten minutes or 2 hours before it kicks back on. On that note I'm having a problem with the dashboard glitch. I can be cruising at 68 or parked idling and the truck will hickup. By this I mean it act's just like I turned the key off then back on real quick. When it does this it acts almost exactly how it does when you start it up. Not only that but my speed governor kicks off and its off and running. Do these issues sound about right?

Your truck is regening you just can't tell.. As its suppose to be.. And mine is not.....
That said I took a 2 week vacation and left the truck with the guys at Detroit in Moncton and they may have it sorted. Ill find out soon.

When your cruise won't engage turn it off and hit the brakes just enought to cycle the switches and then turn you cruise back on and set it mine will sometimes not set until I do that to reset it. As far as the limiter, that was my clutch switch also detroit guys went for a drive with the laptop hooked up and notice that the clutch switch was intermittant and the computer would get confused going down the road with the clutch switch saying it was disengaged the whole way or coming on and off. As soon as Freightliner replaced the switch the cruise and jake all went back to normal. Let me know how you make out.

All the Freightliners I've driven have had a little hitch in the cruise control... if you stop at a rest area, then start driving again straight onto the highway, the cruise control won't reset. It needs a complete stop before you engage it.

Simple solution. When you pull out of your parking space... drive about 20', come to a complete stop, then continue.
