I got a 2011 Cascadia. I am looking for advice on the best way to get a refrigerator and inverter installed. Not sure if I have to go to Freightliner or is a TA OK? What did you do and where did you get your refrigerator/inverter and price... Thanks

    How about an RV dealership?

Can get a relatively cheap generator also at RV dealership; few hundred dollars vs. thousands for APU.

I dont think you can buy any decent generator for a few hundred any more.

I first yanked out the lower cabinet directly behind the driver seat. The whole thing. Left the upper cabinet in place.

Then went to Walmart and bought a cheap $160 college dorm/motel sized freezer/fridge. I bought some cheap carpet from Lowes. I redid the entire floor in the truck. Then I set the fridge on the floor behind the driver seat. Placed double sided velcro tape on top of the fridge and the bottom of a small microwave. They now sit comfortably together.

For the inverter.. a truck stop will work.. I preferred to get a better one. Pickex up a 3000watt (4000 watt peak) inverter from Northern tools. Think I paid $300 for it. I then went to the auto parts store and got some 10 gauge battery wire and 2 inline 30 amp fuses. Ran the hot side to the hot.. negative to the negative. Ran the wires up under the bunk and over to the right side of the sleeper where mounted the inverter. I ran a short extension cord to the fridge and microwave. Stayed like that for over 1 yr.

I still use the inverter during the day. At night I plug everything into the house outlet that is hard wired to my generator.

    Easy peezy.

Prices keep going up and wages dropping.

But your right about it being the cheaper alternative.

Beautiful setup. How much did the Honda generator cost?

I like your 3000 Honda genny, that's what I want to put in mine!

I have their 6500 for our RV and they're amazing generators, soooo quiet!!
