If you want to flease a truck check out the T660 studio. They are like stepping into a sunken living room. Better yet? Go find a used one on the open market and BUY it.

Well after another round of ABS problems we were sent to Phoenix terminal for qualcom issues, B service and fix to ABS. They could do the B service an qualcom issues but couldnt work on the ABS til Monday. We took a walk over to the tractor assignment building, explained our situation to the kind lady there, who says "Can the shop send me an email saying your truck cant be fixed for 24hrs?" So we go back to shop, the guy says no problem, an whisks an email over to her. We walk back over to her an she says lock the door, ??? Oky we lock the door n she turns on the tv an we watch about 7 videos on this truck. When done she hands us a checklist paper an says you are reassigned to a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia!!! OMG..apparently it was used as a loner for Target, had about 4700mi. on it. We are just amazed, the swelling has gone down in my left knee cause the clutch is so sweet. NO ABS problems!!! lol
Cant say enough about her. She is a company truck an at this time we are glad we didnt l/o. I was really not wanting to but on the same line we needed to work, not sit in a shop or terminal cause of the truck. Hope none of you get our old one.
Luv you gysRotten and Texas-Nana Thank this. -
Okay. Good deal! Now. Things to watch for on Cascadia.
Windshield seal. If you get water on the dash at all get into the shop and tell them to silicon caulk the seal. It's the only fix that works.
Drive tire wear. Cascadias have a habit of wearing out the inside drives. It starts with the front edges of the inside lugs wearing down first. If you see it starting, get to Phoenix for a tire rotation and allignment.
Keep a close eye on your coolant level. If you start getting check engine lights, check your coolant level first. That sensor is very touchy and if you're so much as a half-gallon low, it can shut you down. If it does, though, it's not a big deal. Just add some coolant and it will start right up. But take it to the shop for a new coolant sensor.
I'll remember other stuff and as I do, I'll post it. Enjoy the new Cascadia.Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
I am SO thrilled for you!!!!! YAY YAY YAY!!!!! I've been praying and praying for a new good truck for y'all.
*does the happy dance which at my age and weight is a lil scarey looking* -
Thanks!!!
I guess what bothers us, though we are very happy with the new truck, is why allow drivers to go thru this kinda nightmare?
I know the Lord prob knew this truck was coming available an we just had to be patient, yet it was a very trying, frustrating time.
BTW our elogs are also working fine now, just us ol timers trying to be computer whizzes n figuring it out. Mostly when ya hafta change the option you want, off duty, on duty not driving etc.
We will get there but only have a few more days of paper logs atm.
Any answers (you have figured out work) really would be very welcome!
Is it true if DOT catches ya with both, paper an elog, they will fine yas?Texas-Nana Thanks this. -
I don't understand why they don't just pull tractors like this. I know when we went through the problem with Thelma's battery it was so defeating. It grinds you down and makes you feel as though no one cares.
I hope you're not asking me about elogs! I don't even understand the videos. I hate them. Hate the new QC. I'm thinking there may be a tragic accident involving a phillips head screw driver, a missing QC and a happy old lady driver.Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
LOL!!!
With the ol truck an its elog problems we just logged off an said heck with it. Our terminal wanted us to figure out how to fix it an we said we r drivers not computer experts lol. When we finally got to talk to the elog guy in Memphis he said it was broke an needed to be wiped an reinstalled, then our terminal finally believed we were not the cause of the problem.
This one in the new truck is working ok, but I need some advise from anyone who is doing great with it, please lol. -
Way to go wyld--good luck with the new truck--im sure its gotta be working better for you. As far as the e- logs--the way they explained it to us is the first week you gotta do both due to the elogs dont have your prior 7 days on it when you first start. Therefore you have to do both for the first week until the elogs catches up on your actual hours. When you start the elogs--it auto thinks you got 70 hours--so that is the reasoning with doing both for the first week--its how they explained it to us. Hope that helps.
