2011 KW T800 Starting issue

    I think they are talking of the 2 wires that run to the over/heat switch on starter not the depopulation wires? when the starter is spun longer than normal the heat sensor at end of 2 wires it will cut power to starter till it cools down to preset temp

    He said something about the wires coming out from under the passenger seat battery box under the truck into a switch under the cab called a depopulation switch then going to the starter and ignition. Seriously cannot find that anywhere.

    On a Freightliner I had, the starter would drag (turn over slowly) at times. It was a loose ground on the frame.

    How are your batteries wired? I have four batteries, and they're wired two per bank. If you have a dc disconnect switch on each bank, try bypassing both switches.
