2011 per diem

    It has remained the same for this year as last year. $59.00 per day 80 % is deductible above the 2% AGI floor.

    ok, but also, dosnt it change in oct or nov? it goes up a few bucks right?

    Every year the per diem rate is reviewed. The rate is reviewed by the GSA and the rates are effective October 1st. The GSA left the current rate alone which is $59.00 per day.

    The rates will be reviewed again at the end of this year. Any new rate will take effect October 1st 2012.

    Wait a second, last year is was $59/day from Jan 1st, thru Sept 30th Correct?
    wasnt it the different from the oct 1st thru dec 31st?

    It is STILL the same there was no change. You can review the info yourself if you like;

    Remember the $ 59.00 rate is a simple hi/lo method that takes the place of having to look up every city you traveled to or thru for your job.

    80% is the actual amount you get to deduct (after you have met the 2% AGI thresh hold).
