Hey i know its been a while, but i took it back to the shop after my oil pressure was low. Turns out my #3 and #4 cylinder kits are scored. They want to do a rebuild in the realm of 28k, i told them it has only 500k and shouldnt need one. They said they will talk to their manager to see if they can just do the 2 cylinders. Any idea what it would cost to have 2 scored cylinder kits repaired? Ive never gone thru this. They are already charging me 1300 to take apart the head.

I had coolant leaking into it and scored the cylinders.

mine was overhauled at 450k . coolant was coming out between engine block and cylinder's head. on right side, near cylinder #3 and 4. cyl liner's top o-rings were bad. warranty covered $10k+ repair.

great videos. in case of toasted 1-box never think to replace it. unless DOC is damaged.

Found this on DTNA Solutions. Mechanics say it could be caused by a faulty injector. Surprises me.

"Over fueling injector is PFP. It over heats the piston, piston grows and you get 4 corner scoring of the liner and piston.

Where the crack is on the liner in your picture, the o-ring is near there. The piston growing is forcing the liner into the coolant jacket, the o-ring area cannot move because it is wedged in the block, so it cracks. The coolant leaks into the piston side, as the piston moves it picks up the coolant and looses lubrication. Which is what Joshua describes."
