2012 cascadia with auto transmission

    ...can this tranny be mated to older detroit , lets say 2005 14l or 1999 12.7
    My friend did find that truck with bad motor and want to make a glider out of it .

    Don’t think so as the 2 ecm’s are communicating back and forth. Older Detroit will not communicate

    Why not just swap motor, transmission, & ecm from the 2005 to the 2012. It's get an adapter to go from DDEC V to DDEC IV. I swapped an 12.7 04 to 99 before I used the 99 ecm no real issues on the wiring harness to the 04 12.7 engine. Just my thoughts what I would do.

    No. DT12 uses a 500 bps data bus, S60 is only 250 bps or less.
