ok 2012 cascadia. had batteries tested august and then in novemner this year. last 2 days were 12 degrees at night. i was off so it sat off. today i go start it and before start gauge was 12-12.5 v. as i tried starting gauge went to 0 and back and forth in red area with no start. i was able to get a co-worker to try and start it as i added starter fluid and it started up within seconds. any helpful hints on what i can do? im worried changing my batteries wont help because its showing 14.7 when running.

14.7 means the ‘alternator sense’ fuse is blown, so the alternator won’t charge properly, although it tends to overcharge in that case.
So your batteries maybe be cooked.
12.0 to 12.3 after sitting in the cold is not uncommon.
The Alt Sense fuse is 5 amps located in black box on fire wall just under the steering column. -
i think 14.2 i mean. its showing normal when i first bought the truck.

Please keep in mind that nothing lasts for ever and if those are 2012 batteries and they're just now acting up, you got your monies worth. It's time for renewal, thanks.4noReason Thanks this.

Is it cranking slow or is it cranking for a long time before it starts?
4noReason Thanks this. -

I had that problem in a couple of trucks I've owned two other years and it could be one of a few things. First of all make sure that when you're checking your battery you are checking each and every one independently and not all together. check the voltage if one of them is bad it'll slow your start. The other problem I encountered was I had to open the switch and count to ten so that the fuel pump would Prime itself and then it will start up immediately. Now I have an international and I'm having the same issue I have to open the key switch, wait a second or two and it kicks in quickly. Good luck
it will drain you down and slow your startup.4noReason Thanks this. -
cranks long time then i get check light no start code. it worked when i sprayed starter fluidskellr Thanks this.
