That is true to a point. At Interstate we are not sitting. It depends on the contracts the carriers have.
They also short you 50 miles or more in big runs. That dont happen w current employer, if May paid you what you need no one would quit.
Paloma, hats off to you driver. You bring truth n facts as well as a few others. May dont care about people, they care about tax breaks n revenue off the driver.
Yup .. Stimulus Money. 10k per new hire as long as they stay employed 90 days .. Hence the 90/90 program.
May hired over 500 "New" employees in 2012 .. Yet they still have the same amount of trucks as they did in 2008. Now lets do the Math .. 500 x $10,000 = $5,500,000 in revenue for just "hiring". Ya more that quit after 90 days, the more they can hire ..
I've been on the road since New Years but as soon as I can get to my W 2's I'll be sure to let you know what Iclosed out with when my last date of employment with May was June 18th. you can do the math and figure out how much I was actually making there. then I'll give you the numbers of my current employer and you can figure that out and SEE a huge difference.
I can only remember two times i couldnt take a load when i was at may due to not having the hours. most the time, i had plenty, i could run 6 hrs each day that i was planned for the load, they gave you plenty of time, or i should say more time than needed. I got my truck with interstate on wednesday, in addition to the 2 days of orientation that we logged as on duty not driving, im out of hours after todays run >.< lol oh well ill take a 34 and start over again tuesday morning
Thanks for the great info guys. I'm trying to pick a company to start with. I start school the end of this month. Does May have apus on there trucks or idle restrictions? Joker do you have a cooler or refrigerator how do you keep your food good?
