the new ISX design only has one ohc as opposed to the ones before that all had two ohc.. when the Sig600 first came out they had to have special clutches to handle the 2050 torque, so ya might wanna look into that and make sure the clutch you have can handle it.

Just got the permits for it today. 178k lbs. So its gonna pull fairly heavy. First haul is tomorrow, 40 ton excavator. When the time comes what should be done to optimize the pulling performance within the warranty boundrys? I've read about the Smart torque, Load-based-Speed- Control and Gear Protection programs in ISX engines and am kinda fuzzy... Are they paramaters that can be adjusted or are they just there and have to be lived with?
thanks for the info -
Hey Rig Wrench we are thinking of getting a new truck with the new ISX. Do you know how much the DEF filter is to replace it? Also how much DEF fluid have you been using with the heavy loads? Thanks for any info.

If you want to up the HP and torque rating you will pay additional warranty costs as well as just the programing costs. These are the type of things you need to get settled when it is being built to be sure all the components are correct. Things like the transmissions with 1850 torque can have a 2 inch input the 2050 torques use the 2.5 inch shaft, and the transmission could be completely different. The clutch is normally the limiting factor.
Many will have the torque limited to the top gears only.
You really want to ask the salesman and be sure you have the all the components you want, do not expect you can just bump it up later. -
I would have spec'd it differently, but it wasn't my choice, just trying to optimise whats there thats all.

I will let you know as soon as I do, Only made 2 runs with it, haven't even burned a tank of fuel yet

Sounds good. Thanks

The DEF consumption should be around 2% of fuel consumption. So you use 100 gallons of diesel, you use 2 gallons of DEF. That has pretty much been the standard for the ISX family. Not saying that you might use 2.1 or 2.2% vs. fuel consumption but it hovers right at 2%. I have seen this first hand for a couple of years.

or maybe is adblue(urea)????????????
