We dropped the COE after the length restrictions changed. It used to be if you had a short tractor you could pull a longer trailer. Cab-over-engine allowed for a short overall tractor. I liked the width and height. Your visibility was good. Tight docks were a breeze. They whined about the ride because you sat over the axle, but my 83 Mack Cruiseliner had an Air ride 86" cab and it road better than most.
    I miss that 'ol puppy!

Yep, I love European cabovers for easy docking.

Really new cabovers are really sweet. I wish every US driver ride in some european truck once to test. And compare with old cabovers. Really different thing.

I used to drive brend new International 9800i. It is much better old 9800. But IMO, EU cabovers are better for driver.

which is reason for such high engine tunnels inside of US cabovers

here most cabovers from ground to top of engine tunnels have 1600mm 5ft 3inch

where does oilpan is located on your cabovers is it above axle in front of axle or behind axle maybe our front axle position allows engine to be mounted lower ?

renault magnum with set forward axle like you have, have very high entrance

Some european cabovers have the same problem with high entrance

The thing I do no like that steps in are located behind the door so driver has to climb in cab. Actros megaspace floor is high too. but easier to come in.

IMO - tonnel is for ISX application. Really ISX is too tall for cabovers, it was designed for conv. trucks.

So ISX in so rare in Europe, but ISM is used.

Cat C15 is tall too, and look at Sisu with cat. They uses Premium/Quantum cab installet higher.

The same problem with high floor is the Magnum cabin (they used Mack E6 and Mack E7 engines, now D12F, D13 and D16.)

IMO, they make this cab becouse with DAF XF cab it is impossible use begger engines. and seems to me Aussy market is ocupied with Cummins and many operators want truck with ISX 15 HPI (no ISX XPI, no ISM).

with the same reason to use tall engines Mercedes made Axor and later Actros MP4. Axor got wide tunnel, Actros MP4 - flat floor and high floor (but flat).
