I don't see any reason why a truck would need an overhaul under a million miles. Yes it happens, but their are plenty of engines running with 600,000+ miles on them. If it passes all the inspections that can be done with out cracking the engine then I would defiantly not hesitate to buy a truck with those miles. Maintenance is key. Keep up on all fluids, I'm still doing oil changes at 15,000 even though they say go longer. Also get the overhead run when you buy and then every 200k, it helps a lot.
