Maxxforce engines are boat anchors. When I was with Glen Moore we got bought out by Celadon and I was given a brand new 2012 ProStar... It was the most underpowered truck I have ever driven. Maxxforce engines are garbage, I was able to take my 34hr break every time I went up a hill. That truck found hills and inclines that I didn't even know existed. If you want to lose a driver fast by having them quit, then Maxxforce is your engine.

Just look up Maxxforce in the news. It was released untested and Navistar got sued and lost by multiple carriers. Whenever I see a Prostar going up a hill in the creeper gear, there is a Maxxforce badge on the hood.

The laptop is the first tool I grab. I check for codes, then do an air management test and then a 0-60 mph lug down snapshot test to see how the engine is performing. There is basically nothing you can do without some sort of diagnostic tool connected to it to see things like, fuel pressure, duty cycles, boost pressure, dpf diff pressure, back pressure and so on.

I ended up filing for bankruptcy after my business partner screwed me and left me without a truck, driver and 90K in debt. I'm currently looking to file criminal charges against her for theft and embezzlement.
Heavyd Thanks this. -
Dang man that's not at all. Sadly those kinds of people are out there.

I’ve been running my Maxxforce 13 for 2 years in the oilfield. My only issues was when I had a driver on it and he let it idle all the time.
When he did that I had EGR problems up the ying yang. Now that I’m driving it and working the snot out of it, I haven’t had any issues. Yes it’s slow on a hill but not a slow as you think.... it’s about on par for speed as my ISX15 performance KW....the Prostar is just a hell of a lot more quiet.
My instant thought when you say you don’t have loaded power would be plugged EGR or bad turbo leak.
