    The pressure coming out of these injectors nowadays is incredible, under load and a demand for fuel will create air in the system which will cause the vibration. That's what it was with mine and as I said Volvo is quite aware of it. Performance issues, vibration?, any half decent shop will check that out.

    That's the symptoms they described to me when I asked if it could still be driven, they said you'll have performance issues and fuel mileage issues. And by the way it did not throw any codes to indicate what it was.

    leaking injector cups is the worst problem with this motor, can cause cylinders to lose compression or misfire and the motor vibrating out balance; got this issue 4 times in 1,300,000 miles ; clogged EGR cooler or bad EGR valve /sensors can chock the motor bad also;

    Would any of that cause clogged fuel filter?

    Have you had the truck serviced lately? Don't know about your motor, but isn't that the fuel water separator in the pics? On my truck, the closer it gets to service, the less fuel there is in the glass. If there's no fuel in the glass, seems like it's time to have it changed. I'm probably wrong, but worth a guess.

    What makes you think the fuel filter is clogged? My Davco stays pretty much like yours and never gets higher than about a third between services.

    Wow! believe it or not, i still have original egr cooler since june 2007 and 1,343,000 miles; but i'll take it for cleaning this week; I feel some strange smoke and lack of power , could be clogged again, I cleaned and checked for leaks it few times before.
    yep kind of garbage and poor VOLVO services,but is paid off for 3 years and still goes over 8 mpg on mostly original motor exception cam and injectors;
