2013 D13 spn 5394 fmi17 codes

The SCR is built to work with engine exhaust but not with engine smoke and soot, the DPF is installed toward (Upstream) of SCR to catch them, then if the DPF is crack the smoke will poisoning the SCR, after a while the SCR will no more react to the DEF and the code 5394 can appear. . .

 

So then sometimes if your dealing with NOx codes just replacing the DPF with a clean one is the best fix?

 

i have a 2011 peterbilt with a isx cummins and I just cleand the def filter but now I have codes spn 3257 fmi 0 spn 4765 fmi 3 spn 5319,and 5397 fmi 31 , spn 81 fmi16 , I am lost please help

I have a 2013 Volvo volvo spn 5394 fmi 17, spn 5246 fmi 16 , spn 4094 fmi 18 , did a big mistake to buy this #### plz help me to get ride of this thing , suffering with problems since continuously four week Volvo change all most every thing but still didn't fix it yet pls help me to solve this problems , Plz reply soon as I have to take desion to keep this Volvo or Not plz ,

2012 D13 SPN 5394 FMI 17 AFTER TREAMENT ISSUES

This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had on my first truck. I took my truck for a code (SPN 5394 FMI 17) that showed up on the dashboard. They found the problem after the diagnostic that it started in the after treatment DPF, DPF filter. There for they had the filter sent out to be cleaned, and put the DPF filter back in the truck. After doing this, they found a problem with the EGR valve, which then needed to be replaced. The EGR cooler also needed to be cleaned. For this on going process of two weeks, after all this job they found another problem; moreover, the fuel injector was mixing air and fuel. This was going to cost another $4000 on top $5700 of work that was already done on my truck. I am still waiting to get my truck back. I am a big fan and loyal customer of Volvo trucks but this has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with the Volvo truck after treatment system. DPF, DEF, EGR valve and , EGR cooler.
