Ah....That makes sense. Lucky for me I'm at the OC in Charlotte NC so I'll ask if they can take a quick look at it.

Don't ask them to take a "quick look" at it, have them pull the hub and check it, then properly reinstall the hub adjusting the preload using the specs from FL - not guessing at it or using old school touchy feely crap install.
Remember that it is you who will end up dealing with the wheel either falling off or freezing up because of a bad bearing. -
They are going to look at the truck but they are backed up and won't get to it until Wednesday. The available loaner trucks are so filthy that I'm not even going to try and touch them. I have to be home by Friday for my national guard drill. It looks like I'm going to get a rental car Monday to drive home.

They looked at it again today and told me that these trucks ( FL cascadia's year 2011 and up) have this issue with the noise and that if the noise gets really loud or the truck becomes hard to steer to bring it back in the shop so that the steering pump can get replaced. They changed the steering pump fluid and the steering wheel noise is much quieter now. The wheel bearings turned out to be okay. It looks like I won't be needing that rental car after all.
baha Thanks this.
