No metal shavings at all.
I had low oil pressure and and struggled to go uphill.
My mechanic told me to check my centrifuge filter.
When I checked it , it wasn't positioned right, to to the bottom part being broken.
I replaced the filter and everything was back to normal -
So why did you change oil cooler, main and rods and oil pump?
-
When you do the repairs that you did, you need a special tool to make sure the fan hub is properly installed. There's no way around it. If not you will have low oil pressure
-
My fan hub went out on me
And I lost all my oil.
The maxxforce doesn't have a regular fan clutch setup like all the other trucks. Google maxxforce 13 fan retrofit.
It's totally worth it -
What is the special tool and how does it effect the installation? I'm not sure if they used it or not. How would i know the difference? The fan seems to be working just fine. I had shavings from the fan gear actually breaking. The gear damaged the idler gear next to it. I have glitter like metal shavings on the oil filter. My truck is currently still at the shop. We are still trying to figure out why it's not holding oil pressure. Right now it only holds pressure when gas pedal is engaged. Once you get off the gas pedal at idle the oil pressure drops and the truck cuts itself off.
