Another update I just got the truck back in my possession. It has a brand new cylinder head. While the Maxxforce 13 is dry deck, the head can still pressurize the coolant system under certain instances. I want to thank everyone that chimed in! You guys rock!!

So I'm kinda having the same issue with my mf 13. Didn't yours have high pressure the whole time it was running or just once in a while?
-
Man sorry for the late response a year later lol. But it had the pressure issue the whole time. Now I’m having a coolant loss issue. I’m adding a gallon every 1200 miles or so. Just milking it at this point. I might add a new interstage pre cooler and coolant reservoir as a last ditch attempt. Truck runs good otherwise..

So after the head was replaced Been chasing coolant loss and still pressure issues but only during long uphill pulls for a few years with my Maxxforce 13. Everyone says the interstage cooler don’t go bad so I’ve been overlooking it. After exhausting all options I pulled it to have a look inside. And my suspicions were correct. I think the pressure from the head has caused this cooler to go bad. Finally have this thing ironed out (For now).. Check out the thumbnails. Look at all that “stop leak” in the cooler lol. -
Kudos to you for hanging on to this ol girl.
2013Maxx Thanks this. -
Yup still have it lol. Even tho I’m way overdue for another truck . I’m milking this cow until it gives up.Heavyd Thanks this.
