The worst mistake that I've ever made. Over the last two years my engine heater #### the bed along with my inverter. Along with a few other little things that I can't remember.
However within 100 000 I took my truck in to get a valve reset. Once inside the engine I was told that 4 injectors needed to be replaced. Fine replace them.
Then not long afterwards I was in the shop again and the other 2 injectors got replaced. I can't remember why.
Then another 100 000 km later my truck started to de-rate under load. I brought my truck in and had a sensor in the oil filter pedistool replaced. Sent back out on my merry way. One week later the exact same issue arrises. Took my truck back in, they replaced the entire pedistool this time. Problem solved.
60 000km later I pull into a fuel station, shut off my truck, fueled up and tried to start the truck. Nothing. Pissed around for two hours checking fuses, wires, conceptions nothing seemed out of place. Then I try starting the truck, sure enough it fires right up. However now I have a check engine code. Take it into the shop and they clean all connections, battery shut off switch, update the computer that was another nice bill to get. Out the door I go again.
Yesterday the exact same thing happened to me again. Once again I had to drop my trailers and head for the shop. While talking to the service guy over the phone last night, it was clear that he has no idea wtf goes on.
So tomorrow I'm taking it in again. More than likely to not have the real problem found out but billed another $1000 or so.
I'm done with this truck. I'm done with Volvo. Don't buy one. It'll break you too. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!!

Injectors seem to be a big problem with all engine mfg's these days.
My guess would be all the cheap Chinese metals, etc, etc that have flooded the market.
How much have you spent in the last 100k miles on repairs?

I've noticed a lot of injector issues come from poor quality fuel. We had one customer with a fleet of new excavators (tier 4 compliant) that had nothing but fuel system and injector issues. Turned out that the fuel they were using was very poor quality. Once they switched to a decent fuel they had a lot less issues.

Crappy fuel, bio-fuel, and they have had a bad batch of injectors for all the engine makes.. Most of them use the same vender. I heard that Cummins got so tired of it that they are starting to make their own. When they roll out the 2017 ISX it will have Cummins injectors in it. We will have to wait and see if that is any good. I believe that Volvo is supposedly getting their problem fixed by going to a different style injector cups. To the OP did they change out your injector cups and replace them with the new style? If the did not then you will continue to have problems.

I just had to spend $1200.00 to replace the rear drive line (jack axle) on one of my 05's that had 1.2M on it. Does that make it a piece of crap. Never had to put an injector yet in it, just replaced the cups, o-rings. I realize it can get frustrating but find you a good dealership to work with. The weekend guys at Westfall Vovo in Kansas City are really good.
