Since the Big Cam is all mechanical I'm not sure why he would need the dealer anymore.Brettj3876 and oldog1984 Thank this.

can't take the truck into the dealer for anything...!!
I'm seeing more and more shops with signs saying they cannot work on deleted trucks. Not the engine but any part of the truck -
It's the Feds putting the squeeze on the corporations to force feed their climate agenda. Much like CAT has to "legally" reprogram your ECM to today's horrible standards for emissions if you take in an older truck. This is why many will run a second ECM or not use CAT shops for work.
Ultimately though, I can't think of anything OP would need from a dealer once/if he puts a mechanical engine in. Any regular shop should be able to handle most repairs that don't require dealer specific tools, data etc etc.oldog1984 Thanks this. -
That's my hole point thank youProfessionalNoticer Thanks this.

In Ontario, that truck would never pass an emission test, never.
062 Thanks this. -
With all computers/modules would things like the heat/ac,blower motor etc need to be rewired?
-
All the systems are now designed to electronically communicate to each other. Without an engine ECM you would get constant warnings from the cluster, abs and body controller. Heater, ac and stuff like that will work no problem, but you won't have engine data for speed or tach. The cluster is only able to show that information from the ECM.
