2014 Prostar Gen trans fault

    I have a Eaton ultra-shift plus. I keep getting a gen trans fault. When I'm driving sometimes it will throw the code and it will be stuck in gear(if im in 10th gear it will be fine to keep driving unless i slow down and need it to downshift and it wont) till i pull over shut the truck off and let the computer reset. Sometimes it throws the code when it goes to shift and gets stuck in between gears and goes to neutral so i have no power at all. Here are the codes i have.

    PID-60 10 Shift Finger Rail Position
    SPN-60 10 Transmission Shift Finger Rail Position
    PID-60 2 Shift Finger Rail Position
    SPN-60 2 Transmission Shift Finger Rail Position

    Thinking its either the XY shifter or the Clutch actuator. @Heavyd

    Check the alternator, and wiring. A milli-second voltage spike will give an auto-shift conniption fits.

    This may sound like overkill, but we are finding best results for issues like this is to replace the x/y shifter and trans harness. It can be a harder pill to swallow up front, but it eliminates the annoyance of repeat problems if you only try to change a sensor or chase weak connection problems. Keeping the truck on the road and minimizing downtime is the goal.

    So I will go out a limb here, the cost of a wire harness, and X-Y shifter, wipes out the fuel savings of having an auto-shift instead of a manual transmission?
