Hey Heavy D,
I have a 2014 Prostar (about 80 actually), never seen this freakin blinking light before on any the trucks I Service…so far I’ve ohm’d out the heating pads, all good…changed both mirrors with mirrors off our “parts trucks”…still blinking. Now I’m in Louisiana, 100 yesterday 101 today (actual temp), don’t know why the hell they need heated mirrors, but they say they do. So, where is this module y’all were talking about please sir?

If you don’t mind, you can email me…just so I get it faster:
jeg901@gmail.com. …or however you feel like it.
thank you sir. -
I am going through the same thing with my prostar…I’ve replaced the both mirrors, the entire switch panel and checked every fuse that even might have something to do with it, the only thing left is the BCU, is there anything else I can check????

They use the mirror heat to dry (clear) the mirror when it's raining

Any idea what the problem could be causing the light on the switch to blink, plus the heating pads not working…I’ve changed everything: mirrors, switch…only thing left is BCU, but that not just a plug and play item.

I couldn’t find a “module” that controls it (unless ur talking about the BCU), only a fuse.

all you have to do is pop out the vertical light, remove 3 Torx screws, and the outer cover will “pop” off (with a couple flatheads). The black and red wires are for the heating pads. Should have one behind top & bottom mirrors…I DO NOT recommend completely dismantling the mirror in search of the problem, they don’t go back together nearly as easy as coming apart (2 little motors, a few little plastic multi-gears, slide&lock pieces…just not worth the time, easiest to just swap out mirror with another, if that’s an option).

Here's a diagram of the heated mirrors. The body controller is mounted behind the left kick panel to the left of the clutch pedal, in front of the drivers door. The body controller has separate outputs for both drivers and passengers side mirrors. It is rare to have a wiring problem to both at the same time. The output to the heated mirrors is from J1 (1603), which is top right most connector. (J1) will be molded into the body controller housing next to it. Disconnect this and check for corrosion or burnt terminals. Your next move is to get this scanned and see what code is getting logged if you do have access to spare parts.
