Clogged fuel filters cause low fuel pressure which will set at least 2 different codes. If there are no codes then the engine is losing ignition power some how and shutting off. In that case, I would be checking your engine and ignition fuses, breakers and relays in the electrical panel in front of the passenger seat.

I have a 2014 prostar with maxxforce engine. When the engine is at normal operating temperature the oil pressure at idle drops to 8 pounds and the alarm sounds.

Checking that with a mechanical gauge is your next step. You need Oil Pressure Test Fitting 12–889–02, which replaces a plug just above where the oil feed line to the turbos connects by the oil cooler.

Checking with a mechanical gauge will tell me if the sensor is bad, but I've already replaced the sensor. I've also replaced the oil filter and the centrifugal filter. All with no effect.

I'm curious , if the manual gauge shows higher oil pressure then on the dash, what does that mean? I've always had 40 psi minimum, no engine codes my mechanic checked my truck with the maxxforce software and were only getting low oil pressure from the computer. Fyi I also just the the fan conversion setup.

If your mechanical gauge is trustworthy, it means the sensor is going bad or you have a wiring problem.

Got it! I drove my truck 400 miles yesterday and my orange triangle warn engine didn't turn on. I've noticed it turned on at 10psi only on idle. Would it be safe to say if the oil psi falls to 15 I shouldn't have to worry?
And thanks for taking the time to answer my questions

Minimum allowable pressure is 10 psi. As long as you are above that, it is safe. More the better though.
