Yeah I want to change the antennae. Lol. The one that's in it stinks. Wherever or whatever that antennae is. Tomorrow I'm gonna start tracing down wire

Forget tracing wire; run new stuff. Leave the factory stuff for the stereo.

The advantage of the "two screw" mount is that it won't tend to unscrew itself from the wind pushing on the antenna on the passenger side, like the single screw mount does.

The reason they don't mount the external antennae like they used is because the old style antennae aren't Smartway compliant. The would be the same reason your back up lights on the bunk are inboard of your fairing extensions instead of outside where they are actually effective. All in the name of fuel savings :)

I never imagined that the EPA would figure out a way to control CB...

The issue if it breaks down. How would they replace. The engineers should have designed to place cb antenna mounts behind the sleeper.

How often does a cb go bad I mean honestly? Or the antennas for that matter especially if they aren't subjected to the elements.

Truck drivers are never happy. Get a brand new truck and the first thing they do is start ######## about something and stuff that needs changing. No wonder we are so heavily regulated.

mgrantes and Night Ranger Thank this.
