Well first off let's get one thing straight. I didn't "get" a brand new truck. I worked to earn my truck saving everywhere I could. I am paying for the thing. I wouldn't expect you to understand that. Secondly, who was ********? Some of us just don't care for the factory installed stuff that first reach very far.

For others that actually had something intelligent to add to the convo, I ended up mounting a new antennae behind the sleeper and running my own line. Thanks for all the input.

Since I'm likely to be in the same boat when my two new Evolutions are delivered later this year, where/how did you run the new cable?

The issue of fuel consumption is pretty high on my priority list these days. Would you be able to tell me/us what geographical areas you run in, trailer type, and typical loads weights? I just want to reaffirm that what I have spec'd and ordered will give me the fuel mileage I am looking for. I asked Freightliner to build me a 9+ MPG (CDN) truck, and they say they have.

I am avg 7.0 at 63 mph in my 2015 w/dd13 10 speed, pulling tankers avg 77k lbs, with 3,300 miles on it (First week out). On flat ground I love this truck, on the mountains, it leaves a lot to be desired. Comfort wise, it is great, not a fan of the CB antenna and power connections, I get a lot of noise. I used a single perch for my XM antenna, so far no problems.

That depends a lot on the right foot of the driver. Speccing can only do so much. Easy starts, easy stops, slower cruising speeds and if you got the new dt12 tran you can take advantage of the neutral cruise feature downhills.

Yes, definitely equipped with the new DT12 transmission. They have also committed to equip the driver with all the tools he needs to be successful in attaining the best fuel mileage he can get. The rest is up to him.

I don't care about saving fuel from the auto transmission. I would rather the engine, tires, and trailer to make more mpg. Auto is for lazy people, can be good for drivers who have their left leg busted.
