My regular ride has been down for almost three weeks now. Bright side is outfit we’re leased on to lets us use their company spares if available if one of ours goes down. I’ve been motoring around in a 2015 company spec’d Mack Anthem daycab. It has an MP7 10.8 425 hp backed up by their 12 speed auto shift. I DO NOT care for the auto shift. It’s clunky unpredictable and generally a giant PITA. This truck is a backup as I said and we see alit of PTO time running the blower for the pneumatic bulk tanker, sometimes 8 hours in a day. So this thing though maintained has been rode hard. We have a company owned shop and they do take care of equipment it’s still company equipment. All that said I have to say I’m still pretty impressed with the Mack motor. 350,000 is all that’s on it but like I said, LOTS of PTO time. It’s doing between 6.5 and 7.2 mpg and hasn’t used a drop of fluid since I’ve been in it. Just thought I’d throw that out there. I had another Mack with a Mack motor and tranny years ago and though only in it for about 9 months I was impressed with that one too. That was a 1997 sleeper OTR/regional unit. It was the model with the somewhat rounded hood that preceded the Anthem I believe.
