Did you guys try Hot Shot Stiction Eliminator? Basically it's it's an oil additive, they say it clean injectors from soot on oil side. I'm not sure if it's something that would work on D13 injectors. What do you think?

It's the fuel side of the injectors that's the big problem.....
35,000 psi injector pressure and only 5um filtration doesn't help.

Most all MFG learned that anything over 20K PSI needs 4um or better filtration to get good injector life ..

The cups are also just as big a problem from poor design.... Cups get a beating though when the fuel side starts going south .... Like a chain reaction.

Keep good filters on it , OEM Volvo... and try at least with every PM to run a good strong tank of injector cleaner through the engine to keep everything cleaned up.

Pre filtering with a filter finer than 25um in your Davco also helps.... Get that crap trapped before it goes into that 35,000psi injector.....

My take on this is you rarely have to worry about injector life since the real issue has always been the injector cups. Cups fail 150k to 300k. They always recommend replacing both cups and injector at the sametime. I don't hear of anyone only doing just cups and reusing the old injectors. I see it as insurance to do both at the sametime but maybe someone has only done Cups.

The case is not usually the cups, what is happening to the best of my knowledge is that the casting metal they used for the injector is not strong enough also all the dpf and the scr add a huge amount of back pressure and this will actualy screw up the sealing surface between the cup and injector this is y they replace both always there is ways to go cheaper but i would definately not suggest it unless someone is in a bad bind

Since filtration one of the issues. Is it going to help if I put one more fuel filter? Air Dog makes air separator filter without electric pump. I believe it's called Air Dog Champ. I just don't know what micron rating on that filter. And it's a simple instalation. What do you think?
