2015 Volvo Vnl different trans question

Hey all, pretty new to the forum, and would say i'm inexperienced in this particular field of truck parts and whatnot. Recently got this truck with it's stock D13 as a side project, wanna get her back on the road; I'm wondering though.. do I need to use the stock i-shift trans to avoid having to make any major changes? I have seen and researched others use Eaton 10/13 spd auto's, but I'm unsure of what will have to be changed. Since this is an automatic, I'm concerned about software, and plug connection with the transmission's harness (does it even have a harness? again, i'm inexperienced here ) will ecm flash or tune be required in some way? I know it will fit to the engine though. I believe with an Allison I'd have to make changes to the entire front driveshaft, and it has other features which require button installations, which I don't feel like doing right now haha
