I can’t speak for a DD15, but I guarantee the Volvo engine will shut down if the coolant gets too low. I would assume all engines will. My guess is a sensor still, probably oil pressure sensor or switch if equipped.
-
I have WS ISX and Macks, neither will do that, I get lights on the dash but when the oil is low, it will start but turn the corner and both lights go on with the buzzer.
-
On a Cascadia it does. The level sensor is only just below the low level mark and when it's activated it lights up the check engine light, followed immediately by the stop engine light and the motor switches off.RustyChops41 and shogun Thank this.

So low coolant, or more probably low oil sensor. Agreed.
Soooo.......? Results?
A quart or 2 of oil is a easy fix; hope that's all it is. -
More like a gallon.

Freightliners can do funny things when the coolant is low. The straight truck I drove at one point had a coolant leak. When the coolant got too low the check trans light would come on
-
Well give us an update was it low on coolant?
