Recently bought a used Freightliner, it has 8 batteries, when I bought the truck the 4 batteries in the back were disconnected (had no clue they even existed at purchase) . I wondered why the epu (Runsmart) wasn’t working. I connected them and it runs now, but it won’t get hot or cold just blows air. I started looking at the exhaust from the back of the cab and traced it under the truck near the battery cage, im uploading a picture can anyone tell me a part number or name or anything for this part I’m sure is the reason why I’m not getting cold or hot air 7FDDB737-1D89-4BB0-866F-143ECF95EC61.jpeg

Check fuses first. I would YouTube it and see what other people have done. Fuses are the cheapest solution.

Shut off valves? Those hoses look ready to fail. Water valves turned off would explain no heat. A/C no telling. You’ll have to research those units. Get an understanding how they work.

Also may need to put some Freon in (I know it is not freon now). I am not familiar with that system it would be another start.

Well did you ever figure out anything with your epu? I've got the same truck and the ac on mine has never worked. Heater works but not the ac.
