Flatbed is HARD paysical work, local flatbed is HARDER!!! .....OTR you're securing and tapping maybe once a day if not a couple of times a week, local, your doing 2, 3 or 4 times a day!!!!!! I did flatbed before pulling containers and I can tell you I LOVE IT!!! but I refuse to do it for less than 5K revenue per week. Right now the money is not there. I can refer you to a friend at Kiswani, he drives the white Pete 386 with the deer guard, he was doing regional and local flatbed last year and his settlements were usually the same or slightly higher than mine. NOT WORTH THE EFFORT...there's a reason why he's doing containers now......
As a matter of fact Kiswani has a couple of flats and about 3 step decks, theyre all parked for a reason...BELIEVE ME, as soon as the money is back in it, I'm the first one going back!!!!!
I might be joining you guys. I 100% would if it wasnt for conglobal. I just hate going in/out central is so busy. So hard to turn out. And they close at 5pm like who does that?
if conglobal is the only worry ya got.. i think you'll be okay bro lol oh not to mention, they got new day freightliner day cabs now which they give to the new drivers so thats a plus for intermodal work
What is a typical week on intermodal at this time of the year $1,500.00 after fuel and company deductions? Im fairly new on intermodal but i stay between 1,300 and 1,500 since November in cleveland ohio and few weeks of 1,000 or less is that normal?
Yeah you are about right push yourself a little bit more or be away from home once a week and you will see the paycheck difference
dude, that's pretty low man. not normal to me. and a few weeks of $1,000 or less? whoa! i'd say something is definitely wrong.. need a little more insight... do you work for a smaller company who has little to no freight?? are you working a full 5 days... local or regional...? i can better assist ya with these questions answered..
