    Hi
i have a check light on for "J1587 communication error with Body Builder Module". the check light is illuminated but the truck runs fine. it has also triggered a code in the vehicleECU and Instrument cluster ECU. has anyone experienced it with their Volvo.

    Cluster Code is MID140 PSID 214 FMI12
VECU code is MID 144 PSID 214 FMI 9

I did some research online . it says probably some connecter is loose or shorted. Does anyone know where is Body Builder Module located?

    Thanks

Yes, I found it. But everything looks normal.
Also another thing I noticed is that the fault is only active when I shut my truck off after the first start of the day and then turn it back on.

    Any idea??

That's ok. Thank you for your input
I was talking to another Volvo guy in our company, he said corrosion at battery terminals and conductors could be the cause. When we turn on ignition sometimes the ECM gets wrong voltage signal and it thinks something is wrong with the BBM and triggers the code.

When I checked my batteries, there is indeed some corrosion there. I will clean them out on this weekend and post it here if that fixes. Hopefully it helps someone in future

Did you ever find the issue? I have the same problem with my truck. I replace the cab computer, but I’m not sure if that is the same thing as the bodybuilder module.
