I see that your running a 955 as well. Are you liking it? What did you have to do to set it up and get it running?

 

I must have missed this message, my apologies.
The way I bonded the bracket to the door was by running a braided ground strap from the mirror mounting bolt of the bracket, to the door hinge. Then the door hinges to the cab. No lock tire, I used a wire brush and cleaned all the threads on the bolts and the best I could on the truck. I thought it couldnt hurt since sometimes using just the bolts for a ground sometimes dont always get a good connection.

 

So you went and did a wrap around sorta speak...From bolt in front of where door and plastics meet then into door hinge..Thats gonna run and wear paint off assumeing im thinking correctly..Unless you did it from inside door skin..Had inside of door idea myself but mark thinks it might cause a gnd loop(somethin i need to study)..A multi meter will tell you if yer ok without that specific strap..

 

I tried to upload a pic, but no luck. What your saying sounds like what I've done. The other guy in a Cascadia that was running a 102 whip did the same thing, except he ran a long ground from the mirror bracket bolt down to the frame. I just ran it to the door hinge. It may be creating a ground loop, I honestly have no clue. I've been doing everything by trial and error, and I'm getting real Leary about going into CB shops anymore and getting the antenna tested. I've been ripped off too many times now.

 

Just talked to Clay's. Their mount is for the old Cascadia, not the next Gen 2017+

 

From the last two cascadias i have been in,braided straps on either side of hinge does the trick..A multi meter will tell you..
1 long wire just adds electrical length and then you tune ant for that length and its fakeing out the true swr..
