And the current mess. Need to re-do, and I think it’ll be easier to live with down on the dashtop.
Gotta love that “parking lot & the 14-hr clock is ticking” pro install, huh? Ha!
Sure do need some short coax jumpers. Had to grab a 9’ to run from heater to transceiver.

With ant leaned so far back like that, your reflect must wicket high snd swrs to..Not a fan of francis..Slowmover1 Thanks this.

I think I get it.
Spell check?
Lower doesn’t move badly. Agreed about upper.
Spot check at speed shows SWR same range.
Reflect a different question.
I’d be happier with an antenna that stayed upright.
But none of them will do well in a 90-100 wind. -
Well to help as i mention use a semi flexable water pipe over the 1st 1/3 of the antenna..Dont want all that stress at the base of the antenna..It will still bend but not as bad....
Noticed you mentioned that rg 58 or what ever coax..I still suggest lmr 240 and if your co phaseing it comes in 75 ohm as well..Less loss, better shielding and higher velocity factor..Last but not least use the amphanol pl259 ends on the coax...Most others are junk......
Look up on youtune fine tune cb and watch his vids on coax and ends..Attached Files:
Slowmover1 Thanks this. -

It looks like you are using the plastic washer on the bottom upside down antenna. If you are, you need to remove it. The bottom antenna needs to be shorted to the mount.Slowmover1 Thanks this. -
Note the design. Antennas are connected.
MFJ-347
And Sched 40 now in place.
Crosswinds today on the downhill outbound leg.
I start a number of the wizards videos. Video in general just too slow for me. I tend not to finish most. The need for a script is what sets off the worthwhile from the tedious.
So, am interested that LMR-240 could be used for a co-phase harness. And it makes me wonder about more flexible LMR-400. I’ll go back and look at it. Thanks.
I also need a fair number of coax jumpers made, so a fair order would be coming.
Understood about Amphenol quality.Last edited: Mar 21, 2018

After looking at the picture of the mount again, It looks to me like you need to flip the plastic washers over. That way they are on the top horizontal steel flat piece, instead of the bottom. At least that's the way it looks like the mount is designed on MFJ's website. Does anyone else agree? Or am I wrong.

I ordered and received two. I’ll pull the other one out from the bag under the bunk tomorrow. Some better pics.

The fun, or funny part, of the dipole arrangement has been, once away from the DFW metro area, being able to hear AM radio stations across the CB at night. Faintly. Words or lyrics never distinct. But obviously country or talk or ghetto.
A first for my experience while mobile.
“Hey, sure is quiet on 19 tonight”
“Shut up stupid. Now I cant hear what I think is Red Sovine”.
