Trucking in general needs an economic upswing to be highly profitable again....doesn't matter what you pull right now....economy is just idling along.....,,

I'm not so sure it's going to happen either... Seems to be more and more trucks on the road to me...

I do a mix of 20/40 and 53ft. I dont see the difference imo. I've actually did a comparsion and regional 53ft pays the same if not better... and there's no lift on/off....... i dont think we take local 53? Done it once or twice... thats about it, doesnt pay bad either... i'm cool with both, i've kind of lost patience of lift on/off after doing it for so long..... but then again, i remind myself.... its work and intermodal lol. @4noReason why dont you ask to try the 20/40 freight? Trust me these guys are open to anything, dont think they would even care! They work you how you want to be work. I know 53FT are priority and go to drivers.... my cousin has started working as a driver fresh out of school and last week he worked 5 days legal pulling JBHUNT... made $1,800........ dude is ####ing off the hook exicted lol. makes me wanna sell my truck!!!!!!!!!

Side note - going into CN Harvey, saw fore ad on their fence "hiring dedicated to indianapolis, $1.30 a mile"... LOL

nah im good. i know 53s r ok. with no lifts esp. besides 53s pay tolls. the 20/40 guys all hide their plates. if it paid so well......why hide it?

There are local 53 runs....and, I've not done JB Hunt loads, but I have done CSX, UPS, Schneider and Pacer loads and, other than a couple of exceptions, they all paid WAY less than import/export runs....

Schneider runs being the worst...(with a couple of exeptions)....

Hell, for weekend work, once JR offered me a JB Hunt to Cedar Rapids....$600...no thanks!!!
A 20 tri axle run to Cedar Rapids paid close to $300 more...even now with low rates it's close
to $200 more.....I'll keep doing 53 stuff, but only as filler work and NO JB HUNT......
