Probably the guy had a few drinks while the truck was getting the overhaul done and got a DUI .... Where that truck located I might have to go and take a look at it

So this is the rundown, bushings need to get replaced soon so he is doing it now, steer box needs attention(about 500 dollars to rebuild he is paying for that) and some hoses for the a/c, found some good 24.5 used tires for 120 so he is putting in tomorrow, removing the passenger seat while I find a new one besides that everything works and will pass a dot level one. We signed a maintenance agreement for 4 months anything besides it's wrong he pays for labor and no aftermarket parts unless I approve it. It was too cheap so I had to cover myself.
JimmyWells Thanks this. -
So my luck is good kinda... So this morning I get a surprised inspection on my friends truck which is borderline junk material they do a level 1 inspection and everything turns south, they did make me move the truck forward and brake that thing turn left so quick he told me to stop, engine oil leak, airlines touching the chassis I can go on and on for days anyway the inspector told me "right now I can ruin your whole day and your csa score which is clean ,shut you down so I can give you a simple logs not updated ticket which is like 5 points on your csa or the 100 plus points it's your choice but I just can't give you a pass on the this truck" I told him to give me the fine (125 dollars) and the 5 points....not worth the trouble shutting down today until I go to work for another company probably quality carriers
-
you actually screwed yourself. why would you take the logbook not updated ticket? that's 5 points, x 3 = 15 points... NO you actually screwed yourself. Insurances look for log violations, unsafe, ect. Not vehicle issues. PERSONALLY - I would of just took whatever I was about to get (shut down) then get hit with a log violation. Yep, call me crazy but oh well. -
Actually I'm going to fight it, any violation that I get I fight it doesn't matter as simple as it is I rather pay 300 dollars on lawyer than lose more down the road

Give me the log book violation too. All those issues he found would reflect poorly on you if it was 100 points. Most companies and insurance won't look twice at something like a log book not updated. Brakes, tires, put OOS would catch my attention if I was looking at someone's PSP.

Being honest I had a spotless record because I take pride on my ride it could be a rolling mess but they are always dot proof, I told him to find something wrong with my trucks while I got to the yard... He didn't find nothing because even the stupid white sheet I got caught without it while I was a rookie is in there I even called quality carriers to told them that I had being stopped and I probably won't be able to join them because of it and they told me "we have guys trying to join with 60 plus points and you are worry about 15 points?? We appreciate you letting us know about it but it doesn't affect our decision of bringing you in"
And I spoke to the cdl consultants I'm not too familiar with them or their reputation fighting tickets but I'm leaning towards using them to fight it.jvar4001 Thanks this. -
15 is nothing, it will be 10 in a year, and 5 in two years. Some companies have thresholds in the 70's and above, you should be just fine.
