Anybody know what the max weight is for the top bunk of a 2017 t680?

To avoid the weight comments, I use it for storage, I have shelving on the top bunk. I only drink water so that's what most of the weight up there is from. I've been keeping 25 gallon jugs of water to use (200lb) that I refill at walmart, but I designed the shelving for larger jugs which I've finally found. Want to upgrade to 14x 3 gallon jugs, 42 gallons of water which is 336lb of weight. Plus the shelving, and maybe 120lb for my chest freezer when full. Maybe another 30-40lb for my clothing and cooking appliances.

Looking at a potential of 500lb on the top bunk if I go with the 14 jugs of water. I do own the truck so reinforcing it is an option.

It should handle the weight but you really need to make sure it’s very secure . Otherwise everything becomes a projectile in a hard brake or accident. A buddy had microwave loose on bed he hit a 3 foot snowdrift in a storm the microwave caught him in the shoulder and darn near broke it.

Yep, the gallons where fine because of the 3" lip that contained the mattress. These 3 gallon jugs are almost twice the height though so will be installing a bar across their storage area.

Even outside of an accident, last thing I want to see is a jug of water falling and breaking on the floor. God that would be a mess.
