This is only relevant if the driver has the old gen Cascadia. What you are describing is the old Cascadia that has an ICU4ME in lieu of the ICUC on the NGC. The driver needs to specify as some things are different. In addition, there won't be an "in bunk" thermostat on the NGC. Everything would be handled on the ICUC.

How does the new Opti ilde work. Mine is the same system they had back in 2000 trucks. I had it on my S60 Detroit same thermostat in sleeper. It not the most accurate temperature but it work pretty good. It would be nice if the next generation is better.
I had Tripac on one truck and it was nice but lots of repairs so not so cheap to operate. Then I had Opti ilde on my S60 Detroit it was trouble free system and only replaced the engine starter one time at like 800,000 miles. -
On the NGC trucks, they are done through the ICUC and what mode you want.

Well a new development has occurred. I still haven't been able to get it into option idle doing the way told so I'm sure it does not have it. The new development though is that last night I had my foot just enough on the throttle to not raise the rpm while watching a movie on my laptop but it triggered the system to not shut down or pop the message up. Well I was like that for about IDK 30 or 40 min and then I took my foot off because I was going to head to bed and the truck shutting down was going to be my que to go to bed... Well it didn't shut down in fact 5 or so min later the idle spiked by itself and started idling really rough. And it did not enter Regen mode for the def. It freaked me out so I just shut the truck off. Well this morning it was cold but not freezing 47° . The truck has never stayed idling above or below this temp but this morning my co-driver started the truck to warm it up and it actually stayed idling by itself and I didn't do anything and she said she didn't do anything. but it started doing the idle thing again where it spiked to about 1200-1300 rpm and was really rough. Almost as if the engine brake was on or something but it wasn't. But it wasn't so she tapped the gas and it stopped....it was really weird... But we are going to Laredo tx again this week so I guess we'll see if it was a fluke or not. P.s. no check engine lights or anything either.

That rough idle is an automatic regen. Next time let it finish.

My truck is a 2018 what does NGC mean? And agree would I find that sticker? I have looked everywhere and I do not see is

Yeah our trucks don't normally come with those optimized idle. Shame you got the newer crapcadias I got the 2017 older style that has the sensor on the mirror I put a hand warmer on it and it stays on all night as long as it registers above 80 in the first 5 minutes where the cut off would have happened.

I defined NGC earlier in my post...if you read it. NEXT.GEN.CASCADIA.
NGC is also known as a P4.
The current/old Cascadia is known as a P3. The current/old Cascadia will stop production I think in 2020.
Everyone in this forum needs to be able to distinguish the difference between these two because features are handled differently as there are completely different configurations between the two platforms of trucks.
If you don't see that sticker--then you probably don't have OPTIMIZED IDLE configured on your truck. Most of the time the sticker is posted somewhere around the sun visor or B-panel on the dash. It should be pretty obvious.
It is not an automatic regen but has similar characteristics. That feature is called "Auto Elevate." Please see below (your 2018 unit falls under the GHG17 but is the same idea listed below):

Yeah I can't wait to get my own truck do I don't have to deal with this stupid stuff. Or maybe I'll get the Thermal King Tripac APU the nit picking on fuel costs are just ridiculous I mean if you're gonna run a a business and you're gonna and nit pick at least be productive about it you know? In the grand scheme of things how much money are you saving in the long run with APU's than b.s. fuel cost cutting you know? These trucks are our homes and drivers need to be comfortable cost cutting shouldn't encroach on our comfort because our comfort effects our ability to SAFELY perform and these number crunching dickheads don't seem to realize even though all they do is preach about safety yet they don't want to do anything where it counts... They want drivers to fork out their own money and that is b.s. if you are an owner operator it's an obvious you have to spend your own money. Also spy's only help with resale of the trucks anyways.
Thank you very much for the good information my good sir. Yeah I don't see that sticker anywhere bummer but it is what it is. See and that is interesting because nothing lit up and I checked the soot meter in the menu when it happened and it said the spot level was still good. Could it do the elevated idle without any lights or notifications or anything? -
My 2017 truck doesn't have the sticker and they call it Idle Management now When you first turn the key on and all the dash light come on it's in the top left cluster just above the RPM gauge. It says IDLE MGMT and it's orange light.
