Has anyone had an issue with overriding your idle shutdown not working properly? Like it'll work for a few hours then it'll shut down. And does anyone know a tried and true method so it wont shutdown?

There are various ways to overcome the timed anti-idle shutdown. There are also trucks setup up to not idle, no matter what. I've had 2 trucks at the same employer, that are the same make and year. One will idle as much as you want, if you do the procedure that causes it to idle indefinitely and the identical truck would not idle more than 3 minutes no matter what you did. There is no one trick that works. And there is no trick that overcomes the settings in the ECM other than changing those settings. Even releasing the brakes is no guarantee the truck will idle beyond the time limit in the ECM. Standby to read every gimmick and idea used since 1973 on a dozen different makes of trucks. NONE of them will work on your truck, but you are welcome to waste your time and then have people tell you to do them again.Gridaxe5588 and Tarheel005 Thank this.
