Hello, I would love to hear from people who have the dollar general account. I talked to a recuriter the other day and he stated that you can make 100k (locally) driving on this account and coming home daily.
The math behind this logic is 217 to drop off everything in the truck daily and .40 cent a mile * 300 miles a day which equals 120. The total would be 337*6=2022
2022*52= 105k.
I want to know the pros and the cons. When I was in the military I unloaded heavy trucks alot so I really don't care about that.I just want to know if he's b'sing me or if the job description posted is true.If so why would people quit this account alot if they can make more money and be home everyday?

It is BS. And no you will not be home every day. The 102k number means 52 weeks of 6 day weeks and never any time off and it still will not happen.
Realistically from what I saw you can do 4 loads a week between unload times and store hold ups. May e 3 on some weeks depending on rolltainer collection, backhauls, etc. Best bet is to catch someone unloading at a store and talk to them. They will enjoy the break in the summer.Badmon and LoneCowboy Thank this. -
They are sure on the rise. 6 new stores in this area in the last year. They are as common as any convenience store, but the parking is really tight. Obviously, the closer the stores the less driving.

My really good friend who is also prior military did the Dollar General account for Werner for about a month. That's all he could take. I trust that what he tells me is the truth. Based on that, I wouldn't give Werner any thought whatsoever.

Do a search here on TTR for Dollal General. There have been threads about drivers getting fired for minor (and not so minor) scrapes while trying to get in and out of some of those places. You can see by just driving by how hard it could be with all the cars there moving around you.

Some of the newer DGs are a little better to get into. Now some of the older ones you have to a 90 degree blindside beside the building. And it never fails when a delivery truck tries to make a delivery, everybody and their mother will come out of nowhere, and all of a sudden needs to come in and shop

no way for any truck, or mini van to driver around the building. there just isn't any space between the building and the steep drop off into the river behind it.
good luck to the delivery driver with a 53 footer, as the parking lot "may hold" about 50 cars......sheesh, what morons. and NO street parking or street delivery as it is 2 lanes on all 3 roads going by that new place.bigkev1115 Thanks this. -
And also, do you want to be inside 100 degree plus trailers unloading freight out in the middle of nowhere?
