I have a 19 Peterbilt 389 car hauler. I’m having problems with the steering. The truck wanders and has a slight delay and feels really loose all the time. But has no play. all wheels on the tractor are less than 3 months old. I’ve had the tie rods replaced with alignment all shocks were replaced all of the bushings look good and bearings and king pins were checked by multiple shops any help would be appreciated

Check the fifth wheel. If it’s dry, it would cause those issues you just described. It’s happened to me. I carry a bottle of Lucas fifth wheel lube. Easy to pour and no mess.

I had this problem with my pete. Same year not a car hauler though. Turned out my entire front axle needed to be replaced.

So the update on this issue is. I had air in the steering box I had to Jack the front end up and turn truck off. Take the power steering reservoir cap off and turn steering wheel from lock to lock at least 20 times. After that we we’re golden!!

I had to get the air out of the steering box. Jack the front end up. Take the steering reservoir cap off and turn steering wheel from lock to lock about 20 times while the truck is off. I did it myself just had to go to a tire shop for them to Jack the front end up only cost me 20 bucks
