Somethin tells me the cubby hole is wide enough but not really deep enough..
I mounted my 955 just under the cubby hole in my cascadia useing some factory vent holes already there..Just had to do a lil work pulling some plastics to get at the holes..
I would suggest not useing any factory power supply wireing with the radio or from the trk..It will starve the radio some..
Also tinker around when time allows to run your own coax..
Oh and if under the the cubby hole doesnt work "consider" the dbl sided sticky tape it to the dash..I had my doubts it was strong enuf but it surprized me..

    One to look at:

TAC-COMM TRC 2 Tactical Radio Carrier.

    www.tac-comm.com

Mount inside this then affix to dash.

Protection from all sorts of problems. End the dash clutter by adding the rest of your electronic gear. Etc.

I used heavy duty velcro on top of dash with a Stryker 655. Unit stayed put on all kinds of roads. I mounted the factory Stryker bracket upside down on the radio to give the radio a little upward tilt in the front

This is what I use throughout the truck. The only thing that lives.

My experience has been that with the standard stuff, the Velcro fabric sticks together good. It's the glue that holds the Velcro onto the dash that tends to melt off in the Southern Sun. When I try to pull the radio off the dash, the glue lets go and the radio comes off with the Velcro still attached to the radio, leaving a sticky mess on the dash.

I didn’t tell you that a few drops of Super Glue fix that heat problem. But it should be a last resort.

It’s preparation. Genuinely clean surface. And best to leave the piece attached to truck furniture by itself a couple of days.

And, when attaching the gear, no need to use a hydraulic ram. Just set in place.
