All I can say is do your research and speak with those who have experience in this application. There are pros and cons to everything as well as driver preferences. But the same as with the 20k fronts if it is desired and the person wants to put down a non refundable security deposit as well as provide proof of ability to make the purchase I am willing to accommodate whatever tire preference is desired.

LP tires can be rated for the same weight. With 3.73 rears I would rather have LP rubber. I do have a legit question for the op though. You say it’s got a 14.6 steer that can be upgraded. When or if they upgrade will they add a second steer box or do the just add springs and put a new door sticker on it?

The axle itself will also be replaced the procedure itself is very pricey when done through a Peterbilt shop but From my understanding is the only legit way to do it aftermarket shops will not be able to rate the axle legally as far as I knowYousername Thanks this.

Brand new prices for a used truck, oaf.
-
An axle shop should be able to do it. However being such a new truck it would affect warranty. I also imagine it’s a pricey endeavor. It would take a long neck and a longer slide to be able to load 20k on the steer with the pusher down. Or at a minimum the slider would have to be moved up.
-
Yea the pricing is drastic compared to pre pandemic prices however if you read the post or actually do you research new trucks with similar specs are priced around 300k if ordered. And that price will increase every quarter. Therefore it is not a new truck price anymore and in my opinion due to the discontinuation of the model current prices will rise when paccar announces it and remain that way for atleast the next 10 years. The same way it did and still is with glider kits.

I agree it would be very wise to move the slider as foward as possible. As far a warranty goes the truck does not come with the Cummings extended warranty but an after market warranty can be purchased . Most will say that it is a pain to deal with and from first hand experience I would say so unless u do what I have done when I had it which would be to approve the repairs and have the shop put a hold on your credit card until the warranty company actually approves the repair at which point the hold on the credit card would be released. Otherwise it’s very likely repairs needed to the truck will be delayed about 24-48 hours waiting on warranty to approve the repair. I will also say that this truck has never given me any reason or doubt when it comes to reliability the X15 is the best motor out today in my opinion and it does what it is supposed to

I have the DD16. In my opinion it’s worlds better than the X15. But I suppose that’s subjective.

I have a dd15 that’s deleted and I am not fan performance wise the 2 are in a different class but as u said it’s subjective
