    Back in the 80's I drove a mid 70's model International that had a Spicer 21 speed. Had a 3 stage splitter on top like a dial. Truck had an old 2 stroke Detroit. Used almost as much oil as it did diesel. Go out 200 mi and guaranteed to be 2 gal low oil by the time you got back.

    It is a transmission with mid range lo/ midrange/high likely with an overdrive for the upper range.
