If i was a road or regional driver with my company id be getting .438 a mile and thats with one year under my belt. When i first started i was making 27% of the load after my first month, which was i believe .36 or .37 a mile if i took pileage over percentage. .22 a mile is a not just a joke, but a horrible joke. Youd do better running a forklift for 8 hours a day and going home every night.

    .22 cpm!? Holy crap!
    .2x starting is criminal!

My first driving job fresh out of school was .38cpm, and has only gone up from there.

Unfortunately as long as there are sheep coming in the door that accept .22cpm, they will continue to pay it. When, and only when, people stop undervaluing themselves and stop jumping at the chance to be an indentured servant will they raise their starting pay.

Fortunately there are lots of companies that will pay a good starting wage. They require that you turn off the computer, get off the couch, and put some effort into the search to find them.

People that accept .22cpm are probably only worth that much anyway.
